Mechelle Esparza-Harris

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mechelle Esparza-Harris writes a series of books for young adult readers as they learn to form positive values that guide decision-making, responsibility, respect for self and others. Her fictional characters deal with interpersonal changes and developmental challenges teens experience in settings they  can readily identify with.  Her first work, THE LOVE NOTE was highly acclaimed by the Richmond Public Library and endorsed by a retired New York educator. It was followed by her next book release, SAGE.

Mechelle has a proven track record for working with young adults as a lecturer and facilitator of youth workshops. She worked with the Chesapeake Living Team Book Club, The City of Portsmouth -  Independent Living Skills Program, the George Wythe High School Book Club and the “Let’s Get Serious” Program at Varina High School in Virginia.  Mechelle resides and writes in Richmond, where she lives with her husband and young adult daughter. She works as commercial underwriter for an insurance company, with writing as a first love. Holding a B.A. in mass communications and a minor in journalism, other published works consist of published poems in A Seasonal Change and several articles.
